Giving Through Your IRA

If you’re age 70½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church. This type of gift can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and is excluded from taxable income, which may lower your overall tax burden. While a QCD isn’t tax-deductible, it often provides greater tax benefits than a regular contribution. Once your gift is received, we’ll send you written confirmation for your records.

Ask your IRA administrator to make the check payable to Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church and mail it to:

Please call the church bookkeeping office at 251-928-0977 to let us know your IRA distribution is on the way. Include your name and mailing address, IRA administrator’s name, gift amount, and how you’d like the donation allocatedso we can record it correctly. Each year at the close of our Missions Festival, Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church invites families to participate in Faith Promise Giving—a joyful act of trust and partnership in God’s global mission. A Faith Promise is not a pledge based on what you already have, but on what you believe God will provide. It’s a step of faith—asking the Lord to supply the resources He wants you to give toward advancing His Kingdom through missions.

Every dollar given through Faith Promise directly supports missionaries, church plants, and gospel-centered ministries around the world. By participating, you join our church family in sending and sustaining those who carry the Good News to the nations. As you pray and make your Faith Promise, remember that it’s not about the size of the gift, but about trusting God to use your faithfulness for His glory and the spread of His Word.

Your generosity can make a lasting impact, and giving stock is a meaningful way to support the Church’s mission. Stock gifts allow you to contribute in a way that can maximize your financial blessing while advancing God’s work in our community and beyond.

Members or visitors who wish to contribute to the Church by making a donation of stock may do so by contacting their broker and the Church Administrator.  The Church Administrator will provide account information that will facilitate the contribution.  When the stock donation is received in the Church’s brokerage account, the Church Administrator will request the broker to sell the stock and issue a check to the Church.  Unless otherwise designated, these funds will be deposited into the general fund.

By default, gifts of stock support the Church’s general fund, sustaining ongoing ministries, programs, and outreach. You may also designate your gift for a specific ministry or project, allowing your generosity to fuel the areas of the Church you feel most called to support.
