Some are very understandable, such as, “I thirst.” And some are beyond our finite minds to fully comprehend especially when he cried out to His Father, “why have You forsaken Me?” As Martin Luther said, “God forsakes God! In the season of Advent there is so much good and worthy emphasis and thought centered on the Advent readings, the thoughts and worship around it, the sense of anticipation, the Christmas Eve service, everything is focused on Jesus is coming, Jesus is coming, and then on Christmas Day the fact that Christ has come!
